1. Does Automation won't involve in writing the Testcases?

Generally Automation engineer have manual test cases ready for automation. but in some cases, 

Automation Engineer is suppose to write the testcases, where you do not find proper test cases. In such cases , Your manager may ask you, first write the test cases and then automate it.
